Marion Lafougere
Teaches Bookbinding
After an early career in cinema, Marion discovered her true passion in the art of bookbinding. She retrained at Les Ateliers du Vésinet, a renowned bookbinding school, where she spent several years honing her skills and replacing her fascination with film by working with paper, leather, and other tactile materials. Her training covers both contemporary bookbinding and the restoration of antique books, giving her a strong foundation in traditional techniques as well as modern approaches.
In addition to restoration work, Marion designs and handcrafts bespoke creations such as wedding books, birth books, artist’s books, and unique stationery notebooks. Each project allows her to combine her love of paper and leather with a playful approach to design, often layering materials and experimenting with paper collages. Whether restoring a centuries-old volume or creating a custom piece for a special occasion, she brings the same care, craftsmanship, and creativity to her work.
