Discover the vibrant community at Hangar Art Center, dedicated to promoting creativity and artistic expression through various classes, exhibitions, and events.

BACKGROUND

Many years ago, charismatic Dutch artist Luc Veger started an art class that was referred to as “Le Hangar”. In time, Luc worked with hundreds of students and introduced them to his world of art, painting and anatomy. After his unfortunate death in 1998, Luc Veger’ s devastated friends decided to let his name and memory live on in an association that has art and inspiration as its guiding principle. Association Internationale Luc Veger was founded 18th May 1999. (See: https://www.journal-officiel.gouv.fr/ )

The association uses a building in the Quartier de la Fontaine in Chateauneuf de Grasse, that looks a lot like an airplane Hangar which is why members call the association “the Hangar”. In these beautiful surroundings, participants are offered the opportunity to discover and develop their talents. Purpose of our classes is fun and fulfilment; we want participants to really look forward to next week’s session.

The best description of a typical member is someone who is enthusiastic about art. Apart from this characteristic – members are all ages and of many different nationalities, some having used their creative talents for years – and others just beginners – and all liviing along the Côte d’Azur.

1901 ASSOCIATION

The law of 1901 enables two people or more to create a non-profit organization called an Association culturelle. Ours, is named: Association Internationale Luc VEGER with the quotidian name: Le Hangar center international des arts. According to the statutes, the purpose of the association is to continue the initiative of Luc VEGER and to promote art and crafts, in particular by teaching artistic disciplines and hosting various cultural events.
