Teaches Mixed Media

Tina de Rubia’s art is an evocative journey that originates from the very walls around us. Her work can be seen as a whispered tale—a narrative that reassures and connects with the viewer on a deep, emotional level.

Tina’s creative process is rooted in her fascination with the textures and stories embedded in used, time-worn materials. She breathes new life into these elements—old papers, posters peeled from walls, and recycled materials—recoloring them and reshaping them on smoothed cardboard or woven canvas. Her work invites viewers to let themselves be carried away by the transformation of the mundane into the extraordinary.

Her passion for Mixed Media Collage Painting became a necessity, a natural evolution in her artistic journey. Tina’s career path has been varied, having spent many years in animation, where she explored different workshops and artistic settings. This experience fueled her creativity and led her to begin crafting travel journals. However, her desire for a larger canvas soon emerged, propelling her from small sketches to large-scale works using recycled paper and collected posters.

Interestingly, Tina’s work represents a full circle. After collecting materials from walls, she feels compelled to return these transformed pieces back to their origins—the walls themselves. This act is symbolic, restoring what she once “borrowed” in a new and vibrant form.

Tina de Rubia invites you into her world of weathered papers and transformed materials, where every piece tells a story rich with history and reimagined beauty.
