About
Calligraphy

taught by
Dominique Cadu
Classical calligraphy is the heir to centuries of history, teaching us to respect form, regularity, and the balance of the stroke. Today, however, calligraphy can also break free—deconstructing forms, changing rhythm, and exploring new possibilities. Calligraphers now experiment with a wide range of tools: nibs, brushes, and even unconventional objects that create unique textures and surprising effects. This freedom opens up a vast space for exploration, experimentation, and true personal expression.
In this class, you will discover and learn the technical foundations of Latin calligraphy, explore different styles, and experiment with varied tools to develop your own personal writing style. For those who wish, calligraphy can also be combined with engraving, adding a new dimension that allows for the creation of print series and projects blending calligraphy and illustration.
The course is suitable for both beginners and more advanced students. It is taught in French and English.
