Following the success of our introductory bookbinding workshop, we are pleased to offer a regular bookbinding class for anyone who would like to continue developing their skills.

The class is open to complete beginners as well as participants with prior experience in bookbinding.

For beginners

Participants with no previous experience will start with the same three introductory lessons covered in the workshop (see below). These sessions introduce the essential tools, materials, and techniques of bookbinding, providing a solid foundation to work safely and confidently. By the end of the initial lessons, beginners will have completed their first handmade book and gained the skills needed to move on to more independent projects.

For continuing and experienced participants

Those who have already attended the workshop, or who have some knowledge of bookbinding, are welcome to develop their own projects during the class. Participants may bring personal ideas to work on or choose from project suggestions provided by the instructor, ranging from traditional binding structures to more experimental or artistic approaches.

About the class

The regular class is structured as an open, ongoing learning environment, where participants work at their own pace with guidance from the instructor. Technical instruction, demonstrations, and individual support are provided according to each participant’s level and interests.

This format allows for:

  • Skill development over time

  • Exploration of different binding techniques

  • Experimentation with materials and formats

  • Exchange of ideas within a shared studio setting

Whether you are just starting out or looking to deepen your practice, the regular bookbinding class offers a supportive space to learn, experiment, and make books.

Depending on the number of participants the class will be held at the Hangar or in a bookbinding studio in Grasse.
